Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 September 2026

This policy explains how YouTube Playlist Shuffler at www.resonate04170619.com (the "Service") handles information when you use it. The Service is a free tool that plays the videos of a YouTube playlist in a random order. The Playlist controller for YouTube Chrome extension is covered in its own section below.

Using the Service without signing in

When you paste a public playlist link, the Service asks the YouTube Data API for the videos in that playlist and shows them to you in a shuffled order. No account is needed and we do not ask for any personal information.

Signing in with Google

If you choose to sign in with Google, you are asked to grant these permissions:

  • View your YouTube account (youtube.readonly) – read-only access, used to list your playlists and load the videos in the playlist you pick.
  • Your name, profile picture and email address (profile, email) – used only to show which account you are signed in with.

The Service cannot upload, edit, delete, like, comment on or otherwise change anything in your YouTube or Google account.

How your Google data is stored

  • Your Google access token and basic profile are kept only in your own browser's local storage, and expire after about one hour. Signing out removes them.
  • When you load your playlists, your browser sends the token with that request so our server can pass it to the YouTube Data API. The server uses it for that single request only and does not save, log or share it.
  • We do not keep a database of users, playlists or viewing history.

Other data kept in your browser

To let you resume where you left off, the Service saves the current shuffled order, position and settings (such as autoplay and theme) in your browser's local storage. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

Sharing and use of information

We do not sell, rent or share your information, and we do not use it for advertising. YouTube Playlist Shuffler's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

YouTube and Google services

The Service uses YouTube API Services and the embedded YouTube player. By using it you are also bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. You can remove the Service's access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account permissions page.

Hosting

The Service is hosted on Vercel, which may keep standard technical request logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability.

Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Chrome extension: Playlist controller for YouTube

This section covers the Playlist controller for YouTube browser extension (the "Extension"). The Extension has no server behind it. It collects no personal data, and nothing it handles is sent to us or to anyone other than YouTube.

What the Extension does

The Extension only works when you click it on a YouTube playlist or player page. It can:

  • Shuffle the player – play every song of the playlist once, in a new random order listed beside the YouTube player. Your playlist itself is not changed.
  • Shuffle permanently – save a new random order to your own playlist, with an Undo button.
  • Remove duplicates – remove extra copies of videos added more than once, keeping the first copy.
  • Find and re-add unplayable videos – find videos that are blocked in your region, deleted or private, and re-add a playable copy of the same song or remove the videos you tick.

What the Extension reads, and where it goes

  • It reads the list of videos in the playlist you have open (titles, video IDs and whether each can play). To find a playable copy of a blocked song it searches YouTube for the same title and artist.
  • To make the changes you ask for, requests must come from your account. The Extension does this the same way youtube.com's own page does: it reads YouTube's sign-in cookie from the tab you have open and uses it to sign the requests it sends to youtube.com. The cookie is used only for those requests. It is never saved or sent anywhere else, and the Extension never sees your Google password.
  • The only servers the Extension contacts are YouTube's (www.youtube.com, and i.ytimg.com for video thumbnails). The support and website links in its popup open only when you click them.

Data kept in your browser

When you shuffle a playlist permanently, the Extension saves that playlist's previous order in the Extension's local storage, so Undo can put it back. It is removed when you use Undo, is never synced to your Google account, and is deleted when you remove the Extension.

Permissions and why they are needed

  • Active tab – access to the tab you clicked the Extension on, at that moment only.
  • Scripting – to run the Extension's own packaged code on that YouTube page.
  • Storage – to keep the previous playlist order locally for Undo.
  • www.youtube.com – to read your playlist and apply the changes you choose. The Extension does not run on any other website and does not read your browsing history or other tabs.

Sharing

The Extension does not sell, rent, share or transfer any user data, contains no ads or analytics, and does not use any data for purposes unrelated to its features. Its use of data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
